Send a takedown notice

If you believe material on one of our services infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent below. Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)), your notice must include all six of these.

1. Your physical or electronic signature, or the signature of someone authorized to act for the copyright owner.
2. The copyrighted work you believe was infringed. If there are several, a list is fine.
3. The material you believe infringes, with enough detail for us to find it, such as the exact web address.
4. Your name, mailing address, phone number and email address.
5. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
6. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for the owner.

A notice missing any of these may not be valid, and we may not act on it. If you knowingly misstate that material infringes, you may be liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. 512(f).

What happens next

When we get a valid notice, we remove the material or block access to it promptly. We then make a reasonable effort to tell the person who posted it, so they can respond.

Send a counter notice

If we removed your material and you believe it was a mistake or the material was misidentified, you can send a counter notice to the same agent. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(g)(3), it must include all four of these.

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. The material that was removed and where it appeared before we removed it.
3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or because it was misidentified.
4. Your name, address and phone number. Add a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address, or any district where we can be found if you live outside the United States. Also state that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.

When we get a valid counter notice, we send a copy to the person who sent the original notice. We put the material back in 10 to 14 business days, unless they tell us they have gone to court to stop the infringement. If you knowingly misstate that material was removed by mistake, you may be liable for damages.

Repeat infringers

We end the accounts of repeat infringers where appropriate. We may also remove material or limit access for anyone who infringes.
